Rapid City Landfill is a publicly owned landfill in Rapid City, Pennington County, South Dakota. It is operated by City of Rapid City, SD. The site opened in 1960 and is expected to keep accepting waste until about 2033. It took in about 115,230 tons of waste in 2022, making it the No. 2 of 8 reporting landfills in South Dakota by volume. This landfill also runs a composting operation, so yard waste may be handled separately.
